My PT and Pilates journey!
A couple of years ago, I suffered a heart spasm, followed shortly thereafter by a flareup of tendonitis in my Achilles. I felt like my body was falling apart; I lacked energy and any kind of enthusiasm for an active lifestyle. I went to CORE for physical therapy for my Achilles, and during the course of my treatment, Kara introduced me to the reformer, encouraging me to consider PIlates as maintenance following my therapy. First, I need to say that I loved the holistic approach to my therapy, the suggestions for how I could manage my life and lifestyle to prevent future injury. Also, I did begin attending Pilates classes and have gained strength, balance, and coordination! I love the camaraderie of my classmates and the fact that my PIlates experiences meet me where I am and take me forward. Since I’ve retired, I’ve walked A LOT, learned to swim, and attended Pilates regularly!. Not only have I lost 20 pounds, I’m absolutely loving being active. I recently went to Hawaii to visit my new grandson and hiked, swam in the ocean, and walked miles with energy and joy. Kara has encouraged my health journey every step of the way, and I’m so grateful to her and all of my PIlates instructors for their support!
