Pilates Instructor

I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Dietetics and completed my Dietetic Internship at the University of Houston. I’ve always enjoyed health and fitness and became a group fitness instructor about 8 years ago at our local Sheridan County YMCA, where I teach cycling and Core de Force, a mashup of different types of martial arts inspired moves. I workout to relieve stress, feel healthy, and because it makes me feel like I can conquer the world. Teaching others gives me a similar feeling, it allows me to give back to others to help them find their empowerment, the reason that makes them feel successful.  I also want people to feel like they belong somewhere in the workout space.

Over the years various injuries found me in physical therapy where I was introduced to Pilates and Reformer work.  It is a great balance to my other modalities, to find calmness in a workout but yet it’s still challenging. Using the reformer helps you work all the small stabilizing muscles we have but never think to work which helps to prevent injuries, improve our strength, and help our balance. You can do a move on land and think you are super strong but do the same move on the reformer and it’s a whole new ball game. I love it, another challenge to your body and mind! Other things I love include spending time with family and friends, my dog, traveling, reading, swimming.
